Keeping Irvin's situation in mind, I sat up wide awake without even a hint of sleepiness when it was almost six in the morning.
It had been a while since the last time I made breakfast for the kids. I then walked into the kitchen and prepared breakfast with Minnie. I even made some for Irvin and Shirley. I'll bring these with me to the hospital later.
Although some nutrients could be transfused through an IV drip, it still wouldn't be enough for Irvin. He still needed to eat regular food. The dishes prepared by the housekeeper may not have been tasty. But since I had prepared food for him today, I hoped that he would be kinder to me.
While I was boiling up some nutritious soup, Daniel, who was dressed in some neat clothes, came down and cautiously stood by the door. Wishing to help me, he asked, "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Why don't you get some more sleep?" I yawned and brought him into the living room. "Sit here for a while. I will be done with breakfast soon. After we've eaten, I'll bring you to see your father, okay?" "Okay." Daniel obediently nodded and sat on the
sofa.
Fearing that he might get bored, I asked the servants to bring out some toy model kits that the kids had played with yesterday. "Do you know how to play with these?"
Daniel shook his head. He was confused.
Well, this was expected. He had been drifting around with Shirley and probably never truly enjoyed an actual childhood. He would be quite unfamiliar with toys.
"Well, I can teach you. Every single piece has a number on it. By using the picture guide, you'll need to find the right place to piece them together. Once you've built the entire model, you are done." Crouching down, I took two separate pieces and connected them together, hinting at Daniel, "Just like this, understand?"
"Understood." The child smiled. He then started putting pieces together just as I had shown him. He did it properly.
"Good." I caressed his head approvingly and went back to work.
Twenty minutes later, I then heard an abrupt noise in the living room. Listening to the voice that was talking, I knew that it was Aurelia, that little queen.
"I want a rabbit! Haha!" "Haha, a doggy. A big doggy. Bark!"
