When it came to personal interests, there was always a thin line between being impulsive and staying calm.
In Mesville, the Skull Organization abided by strict regulations whenever it performed any sort of activity. As a result of this, they didn't hesitate to take on the Zuckerberg market because they weren't well known in the country and could make a killing doing so.
But having learned how strict regulations were here, it had undoubtedly rained on their parade. Having messed up what was to be a sure deal, Lucas and Kane's faces looked very unhappy, but they couldn't vent their anger out on us. For a moment, their faces had turned red from anger, and their eyes looked like they were ready to kill someone.
It wasn't good to have the upper hand in this situation, there were too many unknown factors behind their power.
It became eerily suffocating in the room. You could cut the air with a knife.
Then, we heard footsteps coming from the doorway. It was Anne and Josiah, they had just come home. Evan came in after them and apologized through his eyes for not being able to hold them back.
"We can work together." Anne had deliberately raised her voice and strode boldly into the center of the living room. After gesturing towards us with her eyes, she then approached Lucas and Quinn. "Why, hello gentlemen, we meet again."
It seemed that these two men had already gone to the club to look for Anne before they came here.
Lucas curved his lips upward as he looked up at Anne. He then said coldly, "A day has passed, have you made up your mind about our business proposal, Miss Anne? Yay or nay?"
Anne was poised as usual, with a slight smile on her face she answered calmly, "I've heard everything you've said. My parents' decisions are my decision as well. Since the club is owned by the Roberts Group, it is only logical that our mission is to do legitimate business, no exceptions."
"Then what did you mean when you said we could work together?" Quinn interrupted suddenly.
Anne turned her face away, undaunted. "Simple. So long as you do legitimate business that meets the needs of the Roberts Group's industry, then, whether it is the club or any other business of the company, we will be happy to cooperate."
