My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 2166

As soon as I had comforted Anne, I got up and went upstairs.

Before entering the room, I sensed something and turned around. Around the corner, there was a huge vase, it was about half a man's height. A small segment of children's clothing was sticking out from behind it.

While only a small part of the clothes were visible, it was enough to reveal who it was.

I pretended not to have seen anything, calmly turned the doorknob and entered the room.

No one was in the room. I could hear the shower running from inside the bathroom. I walked over and leaned against the bathroom wall, speaking loudly to make sure that he could hear me. "You know, that kid Neal, he's so curious. He seemed to be watching us whilst we were negotiating with Quinn and the others."

Or perhaps Aurelia had told him to do so, I wasn't sure.

"Go on," Hendrix prompted with his deep voice.

I pursed my lips and decided to get right to the point. "Why did you send Josiah away?"

The world had changed tremendously after all these years, but I remembered it clearly. At first, I was the one who had trouble accepting Josiah. Hendrix had always believed that his brother would turn out to be a good person, so why the sudden change of heart?

As soon as I finished speaking, the bathroom door swung open. Hendrix came out, wrapped in a bathrobe as he wiped his hair with a towel while walking into the room. "There's no reason to keep him around anymore."

He was sitting on the sofa as he said this.

"But Anne is used to having him around." I walked over and propped my hands on the back of the couch, trying to express Anne's feelings as best I could.

Hearing this, Hendrix paused and turned to look at me. He smiled helplessly and said, "Even so, don't you realize what the problem is, my dear wife?"
