Without waiting for Hendrix's response, he turned around, looked straight ahead, and said to himself with a smile, "You should remember everything by now, hahaha..."
He then took Naomi's arm and left our house.
He was the one who had caused this disturbance. He had stirred up trouble and then left the scene after witnessing the commotion. We couldn't do anything to him except grit our teeth in hatred.
When I turned around, Hendrix still looked upset. He looked like he was going to lose control very soon.
Was there a need to go that far? He had become so agitated from the things Andrea said to him. People who didn't know the truth would think that they were still in love with each other.
I sighed, looked away and caught a glimpse of the two black figures still in the dining room. In a situation like that, it would be unreasonable of them to act as though nothing had happened and to continue being a nuisance in someone else's house.
Since the children were out of their reach, I dragged Hendrix upstairs and ignored them. It was up to them whether they wanted to leave or not.
I brought Hendrix over to the sofa. I then sat on the coffee table, like a police officer interrogating a prisoner with a stern look.
Hendrix stared at me and made eye contact with me at first. But then he gradually lowered his gaze and felt uneasy.
I was confident that he was still hiding something from me. On top of that, it was about Andrea.
"Tell me everything." I was very calm. After having gone through so much in my life, there weren't many things that would surprise me anymore.
Hendrix was playing dumb. "What did you say?"
"The secret you've been hiding deep inside your heart." I reached out and poked at his chest, smiling wryly as I tried to ease the tension, "I can tell that something must have happened between you, Agustin and Andrea. It's something that I don't know about. Tell me everything. You'll be forgiven if you tell me everything, but if you hide anything from me, you're going to be punished!"
Hendrix relented. He looked up at me as if to prove his innocence by explaining, "You've already heard all of it. It was as you've said, Agustin intended to violate you, but failed to do so. I got mad because Andrea slandered you in front of our
children."
He knew how to take advantage of the situation. He concocted a great excuse for himself.
"Is that all? You're not lying to me?"
"That's all," Hendrix nodded confidently.
I got up and circled around him. "Why can't I bring myself to trust you?"
