When Hendrix noticed that I wasn't bothering him anymore, he relaxed and poured himself some tea. He glanced at the folder in my hand and casually asked, "What's that?"
Aaron went ahead and explained on my behalf, "Information on when they investigated Andrea's pregnancy from a long time ago."
I took some of the documents out from the folder. Hendrix then quickly placed his tea cup down on the table and snatched the documents from my hands.
I held onto the documents, which got split into two when neither of us was willing to let go. The folder had also torn in half along the edge.
I was so close to finding out the truth. I stood behind Aaron just in case Hendrix would snatch the other half of the documents from me. I started to read whatever was on this side of the paper that I was holding.
"Arianna." Hendrix called to me heavily, almost as though to warn me.
Aaron always sided with me however, so he stopped him. "Hey, what's in there that can't be discussed, huh? You are overreacting over a document. What if Arianna asks you for something else next time?"
Hendrix ignored him and tried to push him away to snatch the document from me.
Aaron had thought that he could scare Hendrix off with that question, but it did more harm than good. Seeing him triggered, Aaron wasn't willing to back down either. The two of them started pushing and staring each other down with anger in their eyes.
While they were at each other's necks, I had enough time to catch the most crucial bit of information on the paper.
"Person appointed for this case: Agustin Luther."
Agustin, Mr. Luther, they were the same person.
It was the truth that I had never wanted to admit. I stared at the documents, frozen in place. I didn't know how to react.
