My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 2266

The car traveled all the way out of the city center and into an abandoned factory in the distant suburbs.

It was quite a distance away from the city center, and there was no one living near the area. The four-story factory building was about the size of three football fields, and as the wind blew, I could hear echoes around me.

Jordan got out of the car and went straight inside. He didn't care if I was following him or not.

The road was nothing more than a path through an abandoned field created from people's footsteps over time. The width was just enough for one person to pass through. Since I was wearing high heels, it was harder for me to walk. I could see him walking further and further away from me.

Fortunately, Jordan stopped walking when he reached the fourth floor.

The floor of this building was a round structure with a large space in the middle, from which we could see the lower floors directly below us. Jordan stood at the edge and looked down.

I walked up the stairs and slowly headed in his direction one step at a time. I squinted and imagined how nice it would be if there was a strong wind that would suddenly blow and push him down. That way, he would be either dead or paralyzed. Then even if I would still have ninety-nine problems, he wouldn't be one of them.

"Falling from this height won't kill you." Jordan's back was facing me, but he could still see through my thoughts.

I stopped walking and was one meter away from him. "Not necessarily."

If he fell head first, he could still end up being brain dead even if he didn't die. That wouldn't make him any different from being dead.

Jordan did not continue on the rhetorical topic and calmly changed it. "I have some great news I'm sure you'll be very happy to know about. Hendrix has been looking for Evan since last night."

It was indeed music to my ears.

But why was he being so "kind" to tell me this?
