"Why? Isn't this exactly what you wanted?" I was afraid that my words earlier weren't convincing enough, so I acted even more innocently and looked at Jordan while smiling. "I knew you wanted to drag Hendrix down and make him suffer like in hell. Since I can't do anything to stop him, I might as well follow him. You got nothing to lose anyway."
I knew better than anyone that Jordan's ultimate goal was not only to influence Hendrix into doing things that he didn't want to but also to destroy him.
Therefore, Jordan would make sure that Hendrix doesn't succeed in anything he does, especially in Jordan's business. Once he realized that no one cared about Hendrix and left his side, Hendrix would lose his value, and Jordan would take this advantage and make him disappear from this world.
He knew that there would always be someone better than himself, and he couldn't stand it. He wanted to be the last one standing.
After knowing Hendrix for so many years, I knew how he would react to someone he despised. From the kiss and his actions, I knew he wasn't defensive towards me as he didn't wait for me to end the kiss, nor did he stop me from kissing him either. Rather, he was afraid that his true intentions would be exposed from the kiss in front of the Marshall family.
While facing a difficult opponent, I could only take him by surprise and observe the flaw from his actions.
This time, Hendrix had no reason to say that I was not smart enough.
However, all of this was just my speculation. If I wanted to make sure I could work with Hendrix or think of the next move, I had to get more information from him.
Joining Hendrix was just an excuse to confuse Jordan.
Jordan wanted to destroy how I thought of Hendrix. He wanted me to be disappointed with Hendrix and fall out of love with him.
