"Why did he go to the Notary Public Office?" I blurted out.
"I don't know. It's probably just business. It wasn't his place to do much anyway," Aaron replied.
That's true. No matter what, Hendrix was still the legal representative of the company. It was reasonable for him to go deal with some relevant documents.
Aaron told me more information and then hung up the phone.
Aurelia had already fallen asleep in the bedroom. After waiting for a whole day without any news, I was upset. Hence, I poured myself a glass of red wine, leaned against the sofa, and drank while pondering.
In the end, I eventually fell asleep on the sofa.
When I opened my eyes again, there was a vague figure of a man sitting in front of me. I subconsciously felt that it was Hendrix. Hence, I muttered, "You are back..."
Gradually, my vision became clearer. Only then did I see clearly that it wasn't Hendrix in front of me, but it was Jordan, the evil devil.
The moment our eyes met, I shrugged my shoulders subconsciously and muttered to myself in my heart, "Is this a dream or a reality?"
However, Jordan smirked. He smiled, looking excited. "Even the brave Arianna who would sacrifice anything for love is actually afraid of seeing me?"
The disgust in his voice instantly brought me back to reality. I glared at him coldly and gritted my teeth. "You are wrong. Anyone who sees dirty things will avoid it. We are not the same. I know how to differentiate what's right and wrong. I'll restrain myself. I live my life honestly, and there's nothing that I'm afraid of. But you, you have done all the bad things, and I'm sure you can't even sleep well at night. I wonder how scared you would be when the police come looking for you."
