My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 317

"You-" Nerissa began to retort.

"Sorry, but I still have work to do in the afternoon. Please excuse me," I wasn't a good person, and I couldn't determine if other people were good or bad since everyone's life experience was different. I had to endure the hardships by myself. I wouldn't understand the struggles of others, and I wasn't interested in them anyway.

Once I left Nerissa's office, I headed straight to Irvin's.

He was sitting on his chair, looking very relaxed.

When he saw me, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "What did you talk about?"

"Relationships," I shrugged, sitting down on the couch, and sipped a few mouthfuls of water to help calm down the irritation I felt.

The corners of Irvin's mouth twitched, and he asked, "Are you convinced?"

I looked upwards at him and asked, "Do you think it's easy to convince me?"

He curled his lips, "Well, it's hard to tell."

After a pause, he added, "You love Hendrix very much. Won't you regret it if you just give him up like this?"

I rolled my eyes at him, "Why do you think I love him?"

Irvin shrugged and got up while he said, "If you don't love him, you wouldn't have worked yourself into a lather."

Picking up a document from his desk, he walked towards me and handed the document to me, "This is the information of the two men from that night. If you really want to investigate it, I can help."

I took the document from his hand. Nonplussed and restless, I read through the document, and I felt like I could turn to my dark side at anytime.

I stared at the column where their family members were listed, and I couldn't help saying, slowly and tentatively, "They have a wife and children. Do you think they'll stop being so cruel if they experienced the pain of losing their children?"

Pressing his lips, Irvin looked at my stone-cold face and sighed, "What do you want to do?"
