My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 359

Nevertheless, just having money was useless. If you had money, but not the knowledge of managing a company, problems will definitely arise later in the company.

This year, Aaron and Hendrix had discovered the profitable points of Fantasia Company. They were both experts in management. What they wanted was not to finance the company but to acquire the whole business.

I sat back in my seat half an hour later after I finished my presentation. One of the shareholders of Fantasia Company asked dubiously, "Director Reid, have you worked in the Roberts Group before?"

I was surprised by that question. I knew nobody in Fantasia Company and was never featured in any of this city's headlines. Looking at the shareholder, I recollected myself. "Yeah, I used to be the project director of Roberts Group."

Everyone at the meeting table looked at each other and paused at the news that I've just delivered. Sherman looked at me and said, "Director Reid, I'm pretty sure you know this better than we do. For this past year, Hendrix Roberts from the Roberts Group had the intention of acquiring our business as well. But for some reason, he gave up the intention to purchase our business. What I would like to know is, did you play a role in this?"

He continued with a smile. "Although Fantasia Company joined Granger Group through acquisition, we all know that what you truly value are our technicians. I hope that we can be honest at this point."

Sherman was straightforward with his words. I smiled lightly and said truthfully, "The president of Roberts Group is my husband. I did play a role in Roberts Groups giving up on the acquisition of Fantasia Company."

Saying that, everybody began whispering with each other. Sherman said calmly, "If that is so, can I know why did you stop Roberts Group from acquiring our company? If we compare, Fantasia would have a much better future and development if acquired by Roberts Group."

I nodded and said, "Yes, indeed that is true." After a pause, I continued. "But have you forgotten that the Roberts Group still has Advancer Tech? Advancer Tech and Fantasia are both technology companies. After a careful analysis, you'll realize that Roberts Group doesn't really want Fantasia that much actually. They only wanted the technology that Fantasia has, but these aren't hard to find on the market. The Roberts' acquisition of Fantasia isn't really that profitable at all for the Roberts Group. That's why Hendrix has been pushing the matter of acquisition for six months!"

Looking at Sherman, I continued. "Mr. Hathaway, you should know that a tech company would not simply acquire another tech company if the company itself wasn't at a substantial stage. The Roberts Group's main profits are from property and they only have one tech company, which is Advancer Tech, under their wing."

Sherman nodded. He pursed his lips and frowned, then went deep into his thoughts. He paused and said, "We don't know much about the situation of Granger Group. In terms of the proposal, the benefits offered by the Granger Group are definitely favorable but we can't know for sure if Fantasia Company will do better under Granger Group in the future."

Irvin raised his eyebrows and said, "Granger Group's business mainly specializes in technology. Of course, we also specialize in jewelry and others. However, we still have our expertise in the technology industry. The main reason why we want to acquire Fantasia is because we think highly of the R&D of Al in Fantasia. Of course, with the acquisition comes a requirement. Within a year's time, Fantasia must come out with something new with their Al technology. Or else, it'll be retrenched and the company will just be seen and developed as a normal tech company."

Most of the shareholders at the meeting table turned pale upon hearing Irvin's words. If Fantasia failed to meet Granger Group's requirement after the acquisition, Fantasia would then be totally ousted by the market.
