I pursed my lips and changed the subject. "Are you here to discuss business?"
He looked away from the empty glass on the table and did not answer the question. Instead, he asked, "Who did this?"
I frowned. "Are you going to beat her up, or give her a taste of what she did to me?"
He raised his eyebrows and asked, "Would you like that?"
I...
"Alright, you guys go ahead. I'll leave first. There's still something I need to do at the office!" It was useless talking about this. He wouldn't beat Andrea up.
He grabbed my wrist. "What did she want to talk to you about?"
I felt a little vexed and impatient. "Hendrix, let's talk at home. Settle your business first!"
Breaking free from his grasp, I left the cafe.
It wasn't long before Hendrix followed me out. He put his coat on me and said, "You didn't drive here. I'll send you back. Get changed first before heading back to the office."
I frowned and shook my head. "No, it's okay. It's all dried up. I'll leave after I've settled something at the office."
"What do you have to do now?" He asked, slightly raising his voice. He frowned and said, "Get yourself home, take a shower and change out of your clothes. You won't feel uncomfortable like this!"
"I'm fine!"
"Arianna!" He frowned. "We can actually get along fine, like husband and wife, but not like this!"
I frowned. Just as Minnie said, he had been working hard recently and had been handling things very well. I could see his care and affection for me.
After a pause, I nodded and said, "Fine, take me back then."
