Andrea had started to get emotional. She looked at Hendrix and said, "Hendrix, if you choose to stay by Arianna's side to take care of her out of guilt, you'll end up hurting her. You know love cannot be forced. If you don't love her, yet you stay with her for the rest of your life, you will suffer, and she will too!"
Hendrix turned his back to me, so I couldn't see his expression clearly. I simply said with a faint sneer, "Love can't be forced, but we can still try. As for whether we're happy or not, it doesn't really matter. What's important is that as long as you're not doing well, I think that's enough to make me happy."
Hearing my voice, Hendrix turned around, his eyes narrowed, "You've finished washing up?"
I nodded, looked at him, and then shifted my gaze to Andrea. Then, I put on a smile and said, "You guys are so energetic in the morning. Do you need to get rid of your excess energy? Shall I step aside to make room for you two?"
Hendrix frowned and he seemed upset. "Arianna!" He called out, his voice echoed his threat.
I shrugged, but didn't feel angry. I merely said, "Alright then, you two have a good talk. I'll be leaving first."
However, before I go far, Hendrix grabbed my wrist, "Don't get mad, okay?"
I pursed my lips, unhappy with how things were playing out.
I initially wanted to get mad at him, but as I saw him looking at Andrea coldly, I decided to say, "Miss Burton, do you need me to see you out?"
These words carried with them a strong sense of hostility.
Andrea looked upset, and her face was pale. There was a crimson sheen in her eyes as she parted her lips to say something. But when she saw Hendrix's terrifyingly brooding expression, she stopped herself. She just glared at me with hatred and left the room.
Hendrix and I were left in the spacious bedroom. When he looked at me, he asked, "How long were you listening for?"
I shrugged. "I don't know!"
