Andrea couldn't do anything to Hendrix and Monique. So, if Andrea really wanted to hurt me, it would only be through my reputation.
Destroying a person's reputation?
Andrea was entirely capable of doing that.
While I was deep in thought, Charles, Anthony and Sophia had arrived together. Seeing that they had arrived, I regulated my mood and collected myself. This was a family dinner after all, so trivial things should be talked about.
After losing their daughter and grandson were all gone, Anthony and Sophia seemed to have aged quite a bit. The white in their hair had sprouted much more than before.
As soon as greetings were exchanged, everyone settled into their seats. The waiters began serving the food. Sophia looked at me and said, "Arianna, you seem to have lost weight recently. Eat more."
I took the food from her and said gratefully, "Thank you, Grandma!"
Smiling, Charles said, "It'll be the new year soon, so my schedules are all freeing up. Next Monday looks to be a good day. When the time comes, I'm thinking about adding Arianna's name into the Reid family registry. When that happens, you two must come and witness this."
"We'll come, we'll definitely come!" Sophia said with a smile. "When she and Irvin came to the Miller family back then, I could tell that this was all a work of fate. It is all fated that we are able to welcome them into the Reid family registry. My Irvin..."
As she said this, Sophia started choking up. Sobs could be heard as she mentioned Irvin. Anthony patted her hand sadly and said, "All right, easy there. We're still alive. We must look ahead."
For a moment, the atmosphere was draped with faint gloominess. I got up and walked over to Anthony and Sophia. I got on my knees and kowtowed three times.
