My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 483

I lowered my voice and asked, "Ian, where are you? I plan to go back to Ucrebury in the next two days. Do you want to tag along? Shall we celebrate the New Year together in Ucrebury?"

After a moment of silence, he responded, "I might not be able to. We're still in Mesville, and the weather here is cold. It's also not good for the child to travel back and forth. Let's wait for after the New Year, and when the weather is good, we'll go back to look for you."

I looked at the man not far away as he lied, and I couldn't shake the discomfort from my heart. Why would he deceive me?

If I hadn't seen them with my own eyes, I would have kept thinking they were in Mesville.

Suppressing the discomfort in my heart, I questioned, "Where's Monique? Has she been well?"

I looked at him and Sawyer. After a moment of silence, he finally replied, "She's at home, and I'm out. Uh, I have something to do now. I'm hanging up."

Before I could say another word, the call ended.

I was in a daze for quite a while, looking at the back of him and Sawyer, who were talking as they pushed the child away.

If it weren't for Kelsey tugging on me, I would have rushed up and asked him why he lied to me.

It took a long time for me to calm down. When I did, I took a deep breath and said, "What did you find out? Just give it to me straight."

At this point, I could pretty much accept anything. My child was gone, Hendrix and I were on such bad terms, and things weren't going well with Andrea either.

Honestly, this wasn't as bad as it seemed either.

She looked at me, pursed her lips, and said, "You'd better call Mr. Robert's back first. There are hundreds of missed calls. He must be really worried about you!"

I was a little annoyed. I glanced at my phone, and Hendrix was calling again. If I picked up the call in a situation like this, we would probably get into a fight.
