My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 488

I nodded, feeling exhausted and all out of energy. Perhaps it was because I spoke too much or that I was still too weak.

Seeing that fatigue had come knocking at my door, Kelsey advised, "You should rest in the hospital today. Isn't the banquet going on every night? You can only get the strength to fight back after a good rest."

I let out a long breath. Then, I laid in bed for the entire day.

I returned to Jarold City from Ucrebury in the afternoon the next day. Aaron came to pick me up at the airport. When he noticed the dark circles under my eyes, he joked, "What happened to you in Ucrebury? Did you see a ghost?"

I got in the car and nonchalantly replied, "I was rushing, and I didn't rest well!"

"After our dressing appointment, go get some rest at my place. I'll call you at night." He said as he started the car.

I looked at him and a faint smile couldn't help but appear on my face.

Seeing that I was just smiling without saying anything, he frowned. "Why are you looking at me so terrifyingly?"

I retracted my gaze and asked, "Has anyone told you that you're becoming more and more like an older brother?"

He snorted and spoke unpleasantly, "Don't say something against your will like that."

I stared out the window, feeling a little absentminded and responded in a somewhat melodious voice, "Aaron, you and I are the only people left in Hovel I."

He paused for a moment and glanced at me with a frown. "What do you mean?"

His eyes were focused on me as we reached the traffic junction.

My throat hurt a little, and my eyes were uncomfortably dry. "Monique's gone!"

"Gone?"

"Grandma and Monique are buried in a graveyard in Ucrebury. I wanted to bring them back to Hovell, but now it seems that we can't even go back anymore."

The traffic light turned green.
