My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 493

Aaron stood beside me without saying a word, but he noticed me frowning without speaking. He then asked quietly, "What are you thinking about?"

I shook my head and looked up subconsciously at the people who have finished decorating the second floor.

Seeing me hesitate, Aaron added, "Well actually, this is already the best result. Let's not make it even worse!"

Was it bad?

"My child and Monique are really dead while Andrea was only injured. They are truly gone from my world. No matter how hard I try, I will never find them again."

I felt depressed thinking of this. I stared at the people on the second floor and nodded. There was a large projection screen on top of the stage in the lobby of the hotel.

Two minutes later, all the guests who came to attend the banquet were intrigued by the scenes displayed on the screen. The Moore Family had been successful in Jarold City for years, and it also showcased Valerie's achievements these past few years.

She was almost as popular as the Moore Family. The guests under the stage went silent as they watched the scenes play before them.

I didn't bother taking a look at the screen, uninterested in what it was showing. The only thing I wanted to see was Valerie's reaction when she saw these scenes.

However, she did not seem to be as dejected as I had predicted her to be. Instead, she only snuggled tightly in Pedro's arms, as if she had come completely prepared.

Something buzzed in my head. Pedro glimpsed at me intensely amongst the noisy crowd. In his gaze, there was no anger nor viciousness; only pity.

I watched him leave the crowd with Valerie in his arms, but my heart was far from feeling on cloud nine. I knew that from today onwards, Valerie's reputation would be ruined.

It seemed I have finally achieved my goal!

The projector was shut off after Valerie and Pedro left. The hall was filled with whispers of people gossiping about Valerie being despicable, and voices of mockery and disdain.
