I glanced at Hendrix. A man six feet tall, whose body so stiff as though he had just been shot, holding Anne in his arms, making his moves very carefully.
I could not help but laugh. Sawyer pursed his lips and looked at me, 'Anne has very few things, Ian and I will send it over later. She cries at night mostly because she is hungry. You should let her sleep next to you these two days so that you can feed her milk when she cries."
I nodded, "Please join us for the New Year's Eve dinner. Everyone is in Ucrebury, and it's so hard for all of us to get together."
Sawyer looked at Ian, seeking her opinion.
Ian nodded, "Sure, I am not going back to Jarold City, it's the perfect time to spend our first new year together with Anne"
Sawyer nodded and agreed with Ian. He turned to me and said, "I'll send you the details of the venue and time later. My mother has reminded me several times. If it's inconvenient for you tonight, you may bring Anne along."
I was stunned for a moment before I realized that Valerie had invited me for dinner.
"It's not safe to bring Anne along, I won't be attending the dinner, you should go!"
Sawyer turned to Hendrix and asked, "Are you going, Mr. Roberts?"
Knowing Hendrix, he would usually reject. Little did I know, he nodded and replied, "Yes!"
After that, he made his moves slowly to the door, with Anne in his arms. Ian looked at him, pressing her lips, trying her best not to laugh.
If it weren't for Hendrix's cold disposition, I would've laughed the whole time I saw him.
My head was throbbing. I really didn't want to see Valerie.
