My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 544

I looked up at him. My mouth slightly opened, but I could not say a word at all.

After a long while, he pulled me up and wiped the water off my body with a towel. Then he carried me out of the bathroom and put me on the bed. He tried to comfort me, "Close your eyes and sleep!"

He got up and went to the bathroom. I heard the sound of water flowing in the bathroom shortly after that. I laid on the bed and couldn't close my eyes.

My chest felt tight and heavy as though I had been stabbed countless times, leaving multiple unhealed wounds.

They were old injuries that linger around. A slight crack in the wound would make the pain spread to the entire body.

The day was still early. Hendrix laid down on the bed to read a book after drying himself.

I could not sleep, neither did I want to do anything.

Hendrix put down the book after reading it for a while. He glanced and asked, "What are you thinking about?"

I opened my eyes to look at him. I pursed my lips and said, "Hendrix, let's go for a reversal one of these days."

He frowned. "What is that?"

"The long-term side effect is bad for your body. You are the only male child of the Roberts Family. Grandfather will blame me if he knows."

I knew that he had done a lot for me at a great price. Even though we are innovative and forwardthinking, we have to stay humble and maintain the inheritance from our ancestors. We should not just live based on our will without consideration.

What's the point of living if we can't carry forward our culture and bear the next generation?

Hendrix pulled me closer. His body was warm making me safe and snug in his arms. He explained: "Arianna, we are not heroes. We don't need to think for everyone except ourselves. We will talk about having children when you recover, okay?"

I pursed my lips. I felt guilty after all. I laid in his arms and said in a muffled voice, "I am getting more confused in my life."

"You have me in your life, so don't think too much!" He held me in his arms and reassured me in a gentle voice.

That night, he just hugged me.

The following day.

The outside was still dark as I opened my eyes. It should be around four or five o'clock in the morning.
