I shrugged. "Trust me. I want to know the reason more than you do!"
Ian looked at them with pursed lips, and said, "There is something fishy about this!"
Hendrix responded normally when Pedro asked him about the case. Meanwhile, I got up to make tea for them.
Kelsey called while I was preparing tea. As there were many people in the house, I told her that I would return her call in the evening.
It didn't take long for Valerie to prepare a table full of sumptuous dishes. She invited the men to sit down, and I helped to get the cutleries.
Then, Pedro asked as soon as I sat down, "Arianna, can you cook?"
I was taken aback by his question. I answered, "I am still learning."
He smiled and said, "Valerie has recently joined a cooking class. She can showcase her cooking skills by preparing food for you in the future."
"I would love to cook for you every day if you don't mind." Valerie echoed cheerfully.
Then, I quickly rejected the offer, "We appreciate it but we should not trouble you. Besides, we have a matron in the house. She is around all the time, only away occasionally."
Then, Valerie smiled, but she did not say much.
We were old acquaintances, so we could still chat casually although we had our ups and downs previously.
After lunch, Uncle Charles left abruptly to attend to an urgent task and Aaron left together with him.
Meanwhile, Anne had been whining as she was hungry. Therefore, I carried her upstairs to feed her milk.
I was feeling lethargic as I hadn't slept for the past two days. Then, I began to feel sleepy as I was feeding Anne.
However, I still did not sleep. I was completely awake when Hendrix came up to the room.
Then, he took Anne into his arms when he saw me lying on the bed. He asked, "Feeling sleepy?"
