My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 664

It was not until I was out of breath that I looked at him wide- eyed. He seemed to enjoy my expression very much. As he loosened his hug, he asked, "Do you intend for us to stay separated for the rest of our lives?"

"No I don't, Hendrix."

It had been four years. Such a period was tantamount to torture for most people. For me, it was about letting go.

For four years, I healed myself and recovered from the depths of despair. The only thing which could not be healed was that of my physical shortcomings.

When I woke up the next day, Hendrix was still lying next to me with his eyes closed. He'd usually have left by this time.

He was still sleeping soundly. As I turned to look at his eyebrows, it suddenly occurred to me that time had passed so quickly.

Seven years were gone in the blink of an eye. As I thought about it, I seemed to have surmounted every hardship that came my way. I should be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel by now.

Nonetheless, I was still not at peace.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not realize that Hendrix had woken up. His deep, hoarse voice steered my wandering mind back to the present moment.

As our eyes met, he asked with a smile on his dashing face, "Are you hungry?"

I shook my head and replied, "Nope!"

He reached out and pulled me close into an embrace. In a soft voice, he said, "You should eat more. You've lost some weight."

I smiled and replied, "I've obviously put on weight." I felt so much calmer in his embrace.
