My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 685

I got a new set of clothes and went into the bathroom to clean myself. My pajama pants and underwear had gotten stained, and it wasn't just a small stain.

Coming out of the bathroom, I saw Hendrix tidying the bed. The bedsheets had been changed; the mattress was waterproof, so just wiping was enough to clean it.

The sheets that were heavily blood-stained were changed and new bedsheets were put onto the bed.

When I saw him reaching for the bedsheets on the carpet, I reflexively went ahead before him and took the sheets. It was difficult hiding the awkwardness on my face. "I'll do it!"

He frowned, a strange look casted over his handsome face. "It's cold out; I'll take care of it."

"No... no need!" No matter how intimate our relationship was, it still felt inappropriate for someone else to do this.

His face turned slightly grim. When he turned to look at me, his brows relaxed as he said, "Be good, and listen to me. I'll wash it!"

I was about to refuse again, but he had already taken the sheets away.

Not even in my wildest dream did I think that one day, the authoritative business tycoon who stood on the highest skyscraper in Jarold City would roll up his sleeves to wash bed sheets in the bathroom.

As red liquid started getting soaked out of the pajama pants in the basin, I couldn't avoid his gaze anymore.

He didn't seem to think much of it. After washing the blood away and pouring out some fabric detergent, he asked in a low voice as if he had just remembered something, "Has your stomach been hurting these few days?"

I shook my head. "No!" The year I had just arrived in Hovell, I would feel tired and often experienced aches because of the many sleepless nights and irregular schedules from taking care of Anne. But other than that, I was fine.

Watching the sheets and pants getting washed in his hands, I felt my face burning up. After some thought, I decided to just leave the bathroom.

Anne was in the living room downstairs, practicing her cycling skills on her little bicycle. The living room was big, so it wasn't a problem for her to ride around it in.

Seeing me coming down, she was delighted. She looked up at me and said, "Mommy, I learned how to do it. Look!"
