I had nothing else to say. It seemed that everything was in a deadlock and everyone's relationship with each other was complicated in its own way.
We were all at fault but at the same time not. Life was funny like this.
After a moment of silence, I looked up at her. "Have you had lunch?"
She was surprised by the question, then shrugged it off saying, "Nope!"
"Let's have lunch together!"
I got up and went to the kitchen. I had to look forward and move on.
There were only part- timers at home, and we didn't hire a nanny. So, I just quickly cooked up some noodles. She leaned against the door, looking at me. "I heard that Hendrix's in the hospital. Are you not going to see him?"
I paused and stopped cutting the vegetables for a moment. "Did he catch a cold last night?"
She nodded and came over to help me. "After you left, he continued standing in the snow. We all knew that he was punishing himself to save himself, so we let him do what he wanted. He loved you but hurt you, so what could he do? What has happened has happened."
I pursed my lips and did not say anything. Looking at the red chilis in my hand, my eyes started stinging a little.
I blinked a few times and put the seasoning into the noodles. "Can you eat spicy food?"
Noticing that I had avoided the topic, she stopped and said, "I sure can!"
After having the noodles, she left. It was still snowing heavily outside. I sat in the living room, feeling a little stunned by what I heard about Hendrix. I started the fire in the living room's fireplace, got cozy under a blanket and started reading a book.
"Should I go and visit Hendrix?" I thought. However, I decided that it was best for me not to visit.
He atoned for his sins at the Moore villa, so he could be at peace. If I went to the hospital and met him now, it would only intensify the guilt in
