I couldn't pretend any longer, so I rubbed my eyes and looked up at him. "Are you venturing into Al now because you're taking over the Granger Group, and will continue developing it?"
He raised his eyebrows and pulled the blanket that had fallen from my leg onto my body. He nodded and said, "That's part of the reason, but not the entire reason."
After a pause, he asked, "How did you know it was Al?"
I shrugged, "She came in earlier. I saw the documents in her arms."
He curled his lips and moved closer to me. He said in a low and muffled voice, "So, is that why you asked Evan what her name was?"
I nodded and said blatantly, "She's a total eye candy. Any woman would be cautious of her. Plus, she's not only gorgeous but also talented."
He smiled and put his arm around me, "Since I make you worry about me so much, you should work harder."
I raised my eyebrows, "Work harder?"
He looked at the desk and laid his eyes on the broccoli, "Do you think that I'm only worthy of a broccoli?" He asked, with the corner of his lips lifted.
I stared at him, thinking of what to say.
"If I said I just simply took it, would you believe me?" I had thought that Evan would take it home and eat it. Little did I know that he would actually bring it over and give it to Hendrix. Evan was sure as straight as an arrow.
Hendrix's smile grew wider, "Really?"
I looked at him, not wanting to continue this conversation any longer.
After a pause, I said, "Anyways, I owe you some flowers. By the way, are you done with your work? It's getting late. We should head to the supermarket. If we get home too late, Anne will be upset."
He raised his hand and scratched the tip of my nose. "You're brushing me off."
As we were leaving the office, we bumped into Rowane, who was discussing something with Evan.
Anyone would be attracted to a beautiful woman. When they saw us, Evan nodded his head and continued reading the information in his hand.
