Hendrix tried to avoid the topic. He glanced sideways at me, concealing the worried look on his face as he said, "Evan is already investigating the incident. Such a thing will never happen again."
He was talking about the part where I had almost been taken away.
After encountering several accidents, I had learned how to stay calm. Leaning on his arm, I smiled lightly and said, "Grandmother said that people are bound to encounter accidents in their lives."
He smiled lightly and said, "You really know how to comfort yourself."
I regarded his words as a compliment. However, I still couldn't figure one thing out after thinking for a moment, "Who is going through so much trouble just to meet me?"
He pursed his lips, and his eyes darkened. Then, he changed the subject and said, "Aunt Nerissa asked us to go to her place for dinner tomorrow. Is that okay?"
I nodded. It was good to go out and walk around more.
Noticing his reaction, I felt somewhat tired. I looked at him pitifully, saying, "I'm tired!"
He nodded slightly and held me in his arms. Then, he said in a deep voice, "Alright then, let's sleep."
I was afraid as a one-time occurrence could be considered an accident, but for the same thing to happen three or four times was abnormal.
I didn't want to wake up every time and find the bed stained with my blood. That would mean that I might not be as healthy as I thought.
Perhaps, I was too tired. I slept incredibly well, lying in his arms.
I fell into a deep sleep.
Hendrix had to wake me up the next day because I was soundly asleep. I had no idea when he had woken up, and he was already holding his phone in his hand, looking refreshed.
He looked like he had just taken a shower as he said, "Someone called you."
I was still half asleep when I reached out for my phone, picked up the call, and put it beside my ear.
"Are you back? Do you have time today? Come out and have coffee with me," sounded Freya's voice.
I replied with a slightly hoarse voice, "Maybe I won't have time today. I have an appointment
today. I can't meet you."
