After hiking over several mountains, the sky darkened. We couldn't find a proper place to rest, so Naomi got a little worried. "Let's keep on. I saw man-made pathways along the way, which must mean that there are villagers nearby. If we walk further, we could meet someone and ask for help."
This seemed to be our only option for the time being. When the other girls heard this, they braced themselves. For a moment, everyone was motivated to carry on.
Everyone agreed. "Then let's keep trekking. We can go home when we find villagers."
With joy in our hearts, we quickened our pace. Over the top of the mountain, we saw some lights.
We were all overjoyed. Tina told us as we walked, "After I get home, I'm treating myself to a seafood buffet. And, I'm getting those cosmetics that I'd been thinking about for so long."
Rainie also chipped in with a smile, "Then I'll invite everyone over for tea. The food will be scrumptious."
"I'd have to go and get myself some steak then. I think I can eat a whole cow." Naomi stuffed the remaining lychee we had picked during the day into her mouth. She was a pretty girl, and when she laughed, she was like Aphrodite in the dim moonlight.
Dahlia remained as unagreeable as she'd been before. She stopped praying and said, "It's God's blessing that we've survived up until now. In the future, you'd better become vegan!"
She was such a party pooper. We glowered at her and decided not to continue our conversation.
Naomi looked at me. "Arianna, what do you want to do most when we get home?"
What did I want to do most?
I couldn't help but let her simple question cloud my thoughts. What did I want to do most?
Thinking about it, I didn't really have anything I wanted to eat specifically. After a pause, I said, "Go to the person I want to see the most, hug him tight, and tell him I'm sorry!"
She was a little surprised, and turned to me with a playfully scandalized look. "Is it someone you love?"
