Chapter 216
As Arabella looked at Stephany's proud face, the ghost of a faint smile played round her red lips, "Will you believe me if I say I'm not angry?"
How was that possible?
Stephany was convinced that Arabella must be angry, and jealous even. As Kenneth gave her such a big surprise that the night sky was aglow with sky lanterns, she had the greatest favor from him in the whole Hardgrad, which was something that Arabella didn't have when she just had an in with him. As she thought about it, she felt that Kenneth liked her a little more.
"Well, Bella, if you are angry, just scold me. Please don't hold it back. It's not good for your health." Stephany covered her mouth and snickered.
At that moment, Caitlin Hardy came as well. She dressed in fashionable and expensive furs and wore exquisite makeup, looking marvelous. As Seth Snyder had stayed in her room for the past two days, she lived in great comfort.
A statusful son made his mother respected everywhere. As Caitlin had rubbed off all her past shame, she had her head high and looked at Arabella contemptuously, "Oh, Bella, here you are? I'm sure you must have seen the surprise that Mr. Lucero gives to my daughter Stephany. Well, everyone has his own path of life and there is nothing we can do to change it. You know, not every girl can became Cinderella. Just go in there to make up and get changed. Well, Stephany, Mr. Lucero must be coming. Let's go and greet him."
Caitlin held Stephany's little hand and took her away.
As Stephany was leaving, she cast a smug glance at Arabella. The other noble ladies around her pointed at Arabella as well.
"Well, Stephany, let's not waste time on Arabella."
"She must be rather jealous. Well, she used to wear something Mr. Lucero gave her to show off. How will she expect that she will be abandoned one day?"
"She deserves it. She'd better go back and serve the old man with bad back in Floweret Garden."
