My Second Husband novel Chapter 69

The strict rules and regulations set by the Old Master had made Valiant East a successful company.

Anyone who violated the rules, regardless of who he was, would bear the consequences.

Hank Granger violated one of the rules for a woman, so he was thrown away and left to die outside.

Harry knew that his life was over.

He desperately grabbed the Old Master's legs, begging. But the Old Master refused to even look at him.

"You've let me down, Harry. From now on, Steven and you are suspended from work. You'd better stay at home and don't appear in front of me!"

The Old Master stomped out with his assistant’s help.

Amos followed and left the room with Eudora while Harry screamed, "Amos Granger, it was you who planned all these, didn't you?"

Amos raised his eyebrows and replied, "Uncle, you can’t simply accuse others just because you are in a bad mood. Aren’t you the one who brought this upon yourself?"

Amos went out with Eudora right away.

A loud bang came from the room. Someone was apparently smashing things. As they returned, they saw the Old Master waiting for them outside the room.

"Come over. Let's have a talk," he said.

Eudora turned to leave at once, knowing that her presence would not be welcomed. However, the Old Master asked her to stay.

"You come over too," he instructed.

Eudora raised her eyebrows.

“Have a seat," he added.

He sighed and said, "Amos, you have rested long enough. The company needs you now. You need to get the money back from the Coopers. Go to work tomorrow."

Amos’ eyes widened. "But my vacation’s not over yet."

"You..." The Old Master’s face froze, and he turned to Eudora. "How do you feel now, Miss George? Shall I ask the doctor to do a check-up for you?"

It was the first time that he showed his concern over her. Eudora looked at him, she knew he wanted her help to persuade Amos.

However, she couldn’t deny that it was indeed a good opportunity for Amos to return to the company.

"I feel much better," Eudora answered softly.

"Since Miss George has recovered, you don’t have to stay by her side the entire day.” The Old Master stared at Amos. He paused for a while and continued, ’’ I will not concern myself with your relationship in the future." He got up and walked away while holding his assistant’s arm.

Eudora was overjoyed hearing that. "Did he mean that he won't intervene in our relationship anymore? Then we..."

"Are you that happy?" Amos looked at her and grinned.

Eudora nodded hurriedly. "Aren’t you?"

Amos did not say a word and took her into his arms.

They went back home from the church in the afternoon.

Eudora had almost recovered after the trip - all thanks to the fresh air there.

Amos went to the company the next morning. Aunt Valerie was all ready when Eudora woke up. “Sir asked me to go to the hospital with you for your check-up."
