There was no one on the streets at night, so it looked especially empty. Maeve put on some calming music and thought about how she was going to discuss getting a divorce with Sergio. 

The first traffic light they encountered was red. Maeve tried to stop the car, but nothing happened when she stepped on the brakes. Maeve was stunned. There was something wrong with her car.
