As Maeve was lost in her thoughts, Sergio suddenly lunged forward and shielded her with his body. She was caught off guard as she heard the sound of eggs cracking. 

Maeve turned and saw the crowd throwing rotten eggs at them while Sergio stood protectively in front of her.

“Some of Bryce’s fans were making a scene at the gate,” Maeve explained, glancing at Cecilia. “They’d nearly hurt Sergio. However, I’m curious to know how they’d managed to find Brooks Manor.”

Maeve led Sergio upstairs. She pulled out a black suit from the closet. “Why did you defend me? What if they had thrown stones instead of PEES?” 

“It’s my job to protect my wife,” Sergio replied, unbuttoning his dirtied suit and tossing it into the trash can. 

Seeing Sergio start to undress further, Maeve quickly turned away. “What are you doing?”
