Just as Brinley thought she was about to be strangled to death by Darleen, someone pulled them apart.
But they only managed to pull Darleen away. Darleen was already at her breaking point, her nerves frayed and raw. The moment she was pulled back, she lunged forward again without a second thought, screaming in fury. "Let go of me! I don't want to live anymore! You bitch, let's just die together!"
The thought of Faraday's body never being recovered after the plane crash filled Darleen with an unbearable hatred. She hated Brinley with every fiber of her being and wanted her dead. And right now, she was going to make it happen.
Brinley had just caught her breath when Darleen charged again, and the two of them began wrestling in the snow.
"Don't you go too far!" Brinley shoved Darleen with all her might.
The moment Darleen fell back into the snow, her mind went blank with a deafening buzz. So this was what regret sounded like. A voice inside her chest was screaming the word over and over. She truly regretted all the kindness and trust she had given Brinley.
She had been so good to her. Back then, whether it was for the sake of profit or not, she had doted on Brinley like her own daughter. She had treated Brinley better than she treated Xenia and Susanna!
"I'm going too far? What have I done that's too far?" Darleen, incensed, slapped Brinley hard across the face.
Brinley’s head whipped to the side. She stared at Darleen, her tear-filled eyes now blazing with an undeniable anger.
That flicker of fury was all it took to ignite Darleen's last shred of sanity. "So now you hate me, is that it? I found out you murdered my Faraday, and now you have the nerve to hate me!"
With another guttural cry, Darleen threw herself at Brinley again. But this time, Brinley fought back. In the Yelchin family home, survival was a struggle for everyone. Who had the luxury of holding back anymore? Their past harmony was shattered, trampled into the ground.
