Could it be? Did they finally have a way to deal with Starla?
That bitch. She better hope they never found a way to take her down, or they would make her wish she were dead!
"Oh, there's definitely good news," Darleen said smugly.
"What is it? Did you figure out how to handle Starla?"
Darleen's smile vanished instantly. "Don't even think about that."
Both Annika and Harley had already decided to hand Yelchin Group over to Starla. They would likely never get a chance to flip the tables on her in this lifetime.
"Then what are you smiling about?" Xenia asked, confused. What else could possibly be considered good news right now?
"That son Brinley's been crying over? It's not even hers!"
"What? Then whose is it?"
"Felix had it with some other woman!"
"Are you serious?!" Xenia's voice pitched up in disbelief. She stared at her mother, completely stunned. "Wait, she actually put up with that?"
Lately, Brinley had treated that boy like her own flesh and blood. And now they were saying the baby wasn't even hers?
"I don't know exactly how Felix pulled it off, but she only just found out today. I heard her screaming at him like a maniac on the phone!"
"She didn't know?"
"No clue at all."
If Brinley had known Felix was having a kid with another woman, there was no way her personality would have let that slide. Over the years, she had been ridiculously devoted to that man.
Devoted enough to get her own husband killed!
"Is her brain made of mush?" Xenia gaped. "How do you not know...?"
"She's about as smart as a pile of rocks at this point," Darleen chuckled.
It was a tragic kind of comedy, really, since they had all been kept in the dark. But since Brinley was the one taking the direct hit, they might as well enjoy the show. After all, opportunities to laugh were hard to come by these days.
