Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 225

The gossip about Abigail continued into the evening.

After dinner, Grace and Ethan accompanied Janina for a walk downstairs and happened to run into the same group of women from earlier.

They immediately pulled Grace aside and launched into a detailed account of Abigail's situation.

Grace just listened quietly, not participating in the discussion.

These women loved to gossip. If anything happened to any family in the complex, they were always the first to know.

After hearing her fill, Grace walked on with Janina, complaining under her breath, "They say one thing to your face and another behind your back. I bet they talk about our family behind our backs, too."

Janina completely agreed. That's just how these people were. They'd badmouth one person to you, then badmouth you to them. After dinner every day, they'd gather in the complex to gossip.

Grace was right. As soon as they were out of earshot, the women turned their attention from Abigail to the Holt family.

"Can you believe Grace can still smile when all four of her sons are unmarried? If it were me, I'd be up all night worrying."

"Exactly. She has seven kids, and one of them is divorced and pregnant. What girl would dare marry into the Holt family? Look at Janina with her big belly, and you never see her ex-husband come to visit."

"You don't get it. Maybe she's some man's mistress. I heard the Holts used to be dirt poor. Didn't Abigail say they used to live in the countryside?

They only moved here in the last six months and into a villa, no less. It's obvious they've got a sugar daddy backing them."

"Come to think of it, I did hear something. Rumor is Janina's being kept by some rich old guy. I mean, just look at the restaurant her brother opened. No connections or serious cash, and he pulls that off?"

"No wonder Grace is always smiling. I was wondering how she could be so happy when none of her sons are married. Turns out she's struck it rich through her daughter..."

The group's comments about the Holt family were full of scorn and ridicule.
