The scarred man carried the bag past the third fire exit and straight out the back of the hospital, where a black van was waiting. He climbed in without a second glance.

Kenneth kept his distance, waiting a few minutes after the van departed before starting his own car.

Janina had already placed a micro-tracker in the baby's blanket. While capturing evidence of their crimes was crucial, the child's safety was paramount.

After a quick discussion, Kenneth and Janina agreed on the next step. He would call the police immediately. Even if they didn't catch the mastermind, the evidence of Jensen and Madonna's child trafficking would be enough to expose the corruption at New Vista Medical Center. Besides, catching criminals was a job for the professionals.

With Janina's approval, Kenneth made the call.

The police mobilized in two teams. One went directly to New Vista Medical Center to apprehend Jensen and Madonna. When the officers arrived, the pair were caught completely off guard, shouting about being framed. Since the rest of the network was still at large, the police operation was discreet. Plainclothes officers detained them in Jensen's office, handcuffing them and escorting them out through a service exit. Only a few nurses on the same floor knew the police had been there, but they didn't know who had been arrested. The hospital was already buzzing with speculation.

Because of the surprise raid, neither Jensen nor Madonna had time to warn their contact.

Half an hour later, the van pulled up in front of a house in the suburbs. As the scarred man kicked open the front door, a large fish in an aquarium in the entryway thrashed against the glass. Aside from the agitated fish, the house was silent.

Just then, the rhythmic sound of counting came from the second floor. A man was counting stacks of cash piled high in a suitcase.

The scarred man entered, carrying the bag with the baby.

Parked a short distance away, the police observed the scene. After assessing the risk, they moved in without hesitation. "Police! Don't move!" they shouted, smashing through the door.
