Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 302

It wasn't about belief anymore; it was about finding a sliver of peace.

That evening, the friends went out and bought the offerings.

The next morning, the sky was still a hazy gray, a few sparse stars lingering as dawn broke.

Before six, Maggie and Melody were at the hospital to pick up Janina and take her to Mount Giltspire.

The three of them had prayed together last time, so it was only fitting they return to give thanks together.

The drive was quick, and they arrived at Mount Giltspire in less than half an hour.

The morning mist in the mountains was beginning to dissipate, sunlight filtering through the gaps in the trees.

The morning air was beautiful and comforting.

Standing on the summit again, each of them was lost in her own thoughts.

The church bells chimed melodiously.

Janina reverently presented her offerings, knelt slowly, and clasped her hands together. Closing her eyes, she prayed silently in her heart.

Just then, a gentle breeze swept through, sending a flurry of fallen leaves swirling into the air. They formed a strange shape for a moment before slowly scattering.

To show their sincerity, they even knelt at every smaller shrine and chapel in the church.

Finally, they walked a full circle around the church grounds, making sure they hadn't missed a single spot before they felt they could leave.

After dropping Janina safely back at the hospital, Maggie and Melody headed off to work.

Janina glanced at the time: 7:45 a.m.

The doctor would do his rounds at eight. After that, she would get her last IV drip and be discharged.

Lying back in her hospital bed, Janina suddenly felt a release in her chest.

The swelling sensation was gone. She didn't think much of it; her condition had been fluctuating for days.

Three days earlier, she had started on medication to stop her milk production. She couldn't bear the painful daily massages from the lactation consultant anymore.

But her milk, as if by magic, refused to dry up completely.

Even after three days, it was still there.
