He was obviously drunk.
He squatted down and hauled Janina up from the floor.
"Then why don't you go down there and ask the Devil for me if I qualify for his deepest pit!" he snarled.
Dylan walked over, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
"Hey boss, why don't we untie her? We could play a little game." John's eyes glinted.
He remembered a movie about a killer and his victim, a game of cat and mouse where the prey had no chance of escape.
Interesting. he thought.
He waved a dismissive hand.
"Whatever."
"Great! It's not like she can get away. She's still drugged. I've always wanted to try an experiment I saw online, but never had a subject. Today's my lucky day,"
Dylan chuckled, moving to untie the rope around Janina's ankles.
He left her hands bound.
The plan was to let her run so he could chase her down, rewarding her with a stab every time he caught her.
He'd tried it on pigs before, but never on a person.
Today was the day.
"You beasts," Janina cursed, her voice raw. "You'll get what's coming to you."
Right now, words were her only weapon.
She had no strength to fight back.
If she tried to run, she would only die faster.
So for now... John stood up with a sinister smile and turned to help Dylan move the blender.
The moment John bent over to lift the machine, Janina felt a jolt of familiarity at the sight of his back.
An image flashed in her mind—a blurry figure speeding away...
Her eyes widened as a horrifying suspicion took hold.
The words tumbled out of her mouth before she could stop them.
