Janina: [Send me the address. I'm doing this myself!]
While Janina had been resting at home for the past few days, her friends had been anything but idle. They had insisted she focus on her recovery and leave the investigation into Yvonne to them.
After escaping her kidnapping in Seacrest, Janina had provided the police with crucial information. The Seacrest police quickly contacted their counterparts in Clayborne City, and the two departments launched a joint investigation.
The day after she returned, the Clayborne City police had brought Yvonne in for questioning.
However, whether through masterful acting or genuine ignorance of the details, Yvonne had played the part of an innocent victim perfectly. Facing the police's questions, she was glib and persuasive, painting herself as someone completely uninvolved.
The investigation revealed that the money wired to John had come from an overseas account, and there was no direct communication between Yvonne and John. Without concrete evidence linking Yvonne to the kidnapping, the case stalled.
And so, Yvonne continued to live her life freely.
Janina was furious when she found out. She knew from John himself that Yvonne had ordered the kidnapping. This was the second time Yvonne had tried to harm her.
If the law couldn't punish this vile woman, then she would deliver justice herself.
Maggie quickly sent the address.
Janina changed into an all-black outfit, put on a baseball cap and a face mask, and left the house.
When Melody and Wendy Clifford heard, they wanted to join in on teaching Yvonne a lesson, but Maggie refused.
She was all that was needed. Too many people would only complicate things. Legally, what they were planning was a crime. A larger group increased the risk of exposure; one less person involved meant one less person at risk.
Janina met up with Maggie.
They sat in their car, eyes fixed on Yvonne and her mother, Silvia. The two women emerged from the shopping mall, their hands full of shopping bags from various luxury brands.
