Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 394

But when she said there was someone he knew, his first thought was of Janina.

West strode to the door.

His eyes landed on a figure hanging from the second-floor balcony, their lower body drenched in blood.

When he recognized the person's face, a shiver of horror ran down West's spine.

It was Clark.

Marjorie's boyfriend!

This lunatic!

Marjorie actually...

As his gaze met Marjorie's crazed, pathological eyes, West belatedly realized that tonight's events... including the whole situation at The Tasting Room, were all connected to her.

"You... why would you do this? You two were in love once. You couldn't just let him go? This is a crime!"

Even now, West couldn't believe that the Marjorie before him was a demon.

Seeing West's misunderstanding, Marjorie immediately explained, her expression softening again.

"You can't say that about me. Clark deserved to die. He gave me AIDS. He ruined everything for me. Don't you think a scumbag like that deserves to be punished? I'm just helping society get rid of a parasite," Marjorie said, crying and laughing at the same time, looking truly insane.

West froze, staring in disbelief at the woman whose eyes held nothing but madness and obsession.

"AIDS? What are you talking about... Clark gave you AIDS?"

"Yes. Look, this is what I have to thank Clark for." Marjorie ripped open her collar, revealing a large patch of ulcerated skin on her chest.

West quickly averted his gaze. The sight of the sores made his scalp crawl.

There were bodyguards outside. Even if he escaped the room, he couldn't get past them. He couldn't use force; he had to outsmart them.

His mind raced. He had to stall for time. His family would surely suspect something was wrong when he didn't come home.

With that in mind, West stopped struggling. He slowly edged his way toward the nearest window, leaning his back against the wall.

The fresh air from outside cleared his head a little, but his body was still weak.

Meeting Marjorie's crazed and obsessive gaze, West felt a chill run through him.

But he couldn't afford to be angry now. He had to placate her first.

West closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, they were clear.

"Don't be rash. Let's talk about this calmly. You're still young, you can't do something illegal. AIDS can be managed; it's not as bad as you think. Let Clark down. If he dies, you'll go to prison."
