Hamlin's white hair was easy to identify.
Aside from Old Mr. Aurelius, no one else in the household had white hair.
That's how they quickly zeroed in on Hamlin.
Furthermore, two distinct footprints were found on the side of the garage, and a comparison confirmed they were Hamlin's.
Too many coincidences ceased to be a coincidence.
Old Mr. Aurelius heaved a heavy sigh and looked coldly at Hamlin. "Hamlin, how do you explain this?"
Hamlin heard the distrust in Old Mr. Aurelius's tone and his heart immediately panicked.
He hastily proclaimed his innocence.
"Sir, I'm being framed! I only went to the garage the other day because Yeager asked me to help put those gift bags in the trunk. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone there at all!"
Hamlin felt incredibly frustrated.
Not only was his hair white, but it was also falling out.
Especially in the last year, his hair loss had become severe, with clumps coming out every time he washed it.
Sometimes he would find his white hairs on the floor while cleaning.
He wasn't even that old, only in his fifties. Why was he losing so much hair!
Old Mr. Aurelius didn't want to wrong an innocent man, and deep down, he didn't believe Hamlin was capable of such a monstrous act.
But the matter had to be clarified.
So he said impassively, "Bring Yeager here."
Yeager arrived quickly, standing nervously to the side. "Sir, you were looking for me?"
"Did you ask Hamlin to move things the other day?"
Old Mr. Aurelius picked up his teacup from the table and took a light sip, his tone betraying no emotion.
Yeager thought for a moment and answered truthfully.
"Yes, sir. I had a bit of a stomachache at the time, so I asked Hamlin to help me put the gift bags in the trunk. Others can testify to this."
