Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 441

The next day at noon, Wendy had just finished lunch in the cafeteria when she got a text from Finch asking her to come outside. She found him waiting in the park where they used to meet.

Wendy had decided she needed to have a serious talk with him. If he was going to keep trying to control every aspect of her life and disrespect her opinions, then there was no point in continuing the relationship. When Finch saw her approaching, his face broke into his usual charming, gentlemanly smile.

"Wendy, I was worried you were so angry you wouldn't come." His tone was light, almost teasing, and the white puff of his breath condensed into a thin mist in the cold air. He reached out as if to adjust her scarf, but his hand froze in mid-air. He awkwardly scratched his head instead.

Then, he pulled a small jewelry box from the pocket of his down jacket and held it out to her. "Open it. See if you like it. Please don't be angry anymore. It was all my fault. Forgive me, okay? This is a peace offering." Finch's eyes were sincere, and for a moment, the gentle man she knew was back, admitting his faults.

Wendy's resolve wavered, and all the words she had prepared vanished into the wind. Seeing the hopeful look in his eyes, her heart softened. She decided to give them another chance. She took the jewelry box. And opened it. Inside was a diamond ring.

Wendy gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. In the next instant, Finch was down on one knee, his gaze fixed on her with deep affection. "Wendy, let's get married. Will you marry me?" She stared at him, this man who had recently made her feel suffocated, now looking at her with a love so intense it felt like it could drown her.
