Just as Julius finished speaking, a striking figure appeared at the revolving doors of the banquet hall.
Yvonne, teetering on high heels, walked toward them. She held up an elegantly wrapped gift box, her voice sweet.
“Julius, what’s happening? Look, I bought the children a special limited-edition toy.”
She then looked at Janina and stepped closer.
“Miss Holt, I’m so sorry I’m late. Something held me up. This is a birthday gift for Liam and Joy.”
Yvonne was all smiles, presenting the gift to Janina as if she were a close friend of the family.
Janina’s body tensed. She hadn’t expected Yvonne to show up, let alone for the other woman to be so brazen as to crash her children’s party.
She was just here to gloat, wasn’t she?
They all seemed to think she was a pushover.
Julius knew how much she despised Yvonne, yet he repeatedly crossed her boundaries.
Ha.
She wouldn't accept a gift from Yvonne. She wouldn’t dare.
“Who the hell do you think you are? Get out!”
Janina, showing no courtesy, shoved Yvonne out of her way, her eyes glacial.
She had absolutely no goodwill for this woman.
Yvonne staggered backward from the push.
Seeing this, Julius immediately rushed to steady Yvonne, pulling her into his arms.
Yvonne looked up at him, her expression aggrieved and pitiful.
“Julius, don’t blame Miss Holt… I’m sure she didn’t mean it.”
Her words of ‘comfort’ were like gasoline on a fire in Julius’s heart.
Before Julius could say a word, Janina raised her hand and delivered two sharp slaps across Yvonne’s delicate face.
