Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 566

Right at the peak of the scandal, Farmer, who had been hiding in the background, suddenly appeared in a video. And standing next to him was none other than Damaris. The couple put on a united front, dismissing the whole affair as a misunderstanding. Damaris even apologized to Yvonne on camera.

"I'm so sorry, Miss Moore. I feel terrible for the pain I've caused you. I've looked into it, and my husband didn't betray me. Someone intentionally set us up. I sincerely apologize for dragging you into this mess. I will take full responsibility for the harm I've done, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

On camera, Damaris had none of the ferocity she'd shown during their fight a few days ago. Instead, she looked like a frail invalid, utterly weak. The change was so abrupt that Janina wondered if Damaris had been threatened. But given her personality, she didn't seem like the type to back down from a threat. Something about this was definitely off.

Janina couldn't wrap her head around the twists and turns of the situation. It all felt very wrong. At six in the evening, Janina's phone rang with a call from an unknown number. Because of her work, she usually answered unfamiliar calls. She glanced at the screen and picked up. "Hello, who is this?" "Is this Janina?" a weak woman's voice came through the phone. The voice was vaguely familiar yet strangely foreign. Janina asked, "You are—" "Damaris."

She paused for a second. "Let's meet." The woman's voice remained soft and frail. "Damaris?" Janina was shocked. They were complete strangers. Why would Damaris want to meet her? And her voice sounded odd. The Damaris she'd heard that day had a powerful, commanding voice, not a weak one. Now, her voice was tinged with a faint sadness, sounding completely drained.

"Is something wrong?" Janina asked. She wanted to ask why she had joined Farmer in clearing Yvonne's name, but she held her tongue. She couldn't let Damaris think she was involved. To her surprise, Damaris on the other end of the line suddenly laughed, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "I know you're the one who sent me the video. You're Julius's ex-wife. Did you really think I'd let that bitch get away with it?"

Janina had underestimated Damaris, who had traced the video back to her so quickly. She had used a new account specifically to avoid being discovered. Just a moment ago, she was hesitant to question Damaris, but now all her reservations were gone. She understood what Damaris wanted: she was looking for an ally. But Janina didn't want to get entangled in this affair right now. She had other plans.

"We're divorced. I can't get involved in Yvonne's business. As for why I sent you the video, let's just say I didn't want you to be kept in the dark. But why did you and Farmer defend Yvonne? You know it was all true," Janina asked directly. Another sneer came from the other end. "I had to clear her name, but..." Her tone shifted. "You're such a coward. No wonder the other woman managed to break up your marriage. Let me tell you, they won't let you off the hook. You'd better watch your back."

Damaris was about to hang up, but Janina quickly stopped her. "What do you mean? Julius and I are divorced, and the children don't even have his last name. I'm not a threat to anyone's position. When you say 'they,' are you talking about Yvonne?"
