After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 1056

Not long after Natalie's parents dragged her away and the police escorted the George family out, Harold arrived. He had come to take Isabella home.

Stepping into the cafe and taking in the absolute wreckage, Harold's expression immediately darkened. He quickly closed the distance between him and Isabella, his eyes scanning her with deep concern. "Did those relatives of yours cause trouble again?"

Isabella nodded with a tired sigh. "Natalie paid them to come in and smash the place. I already called the police."

"Natalie's parents took her home, and the cops hauled my relatives away. Natalie's family compensated us for the damages."

Harold gritted his teeth. "That woman is like a nightmare that just won't end. She never learns, and she's always looking for ways to torment you. Why didn't you make the police arrest her too?"

"She's... pregnant."

Harold was struck speechless.

That wicked woman. She clearly knew her pregnancy made her practically untouchable, which was exactly why she had the nerve to orchestrate this entire mess.

"I'm living a great life right now, and Natalie's life is falling apart. She's eaten up by jealousy and hatred, so she keeps coming after me."

Isabella helped the staff clean up the remaining debris before finally leaving the cafe with Harold.

Once in the car, Harold asked if she wanted to head straight home or go for a drive to clear her head.

"Let's just go home. It's getting late."

Harold nodded smoothly. "Alright, I'll take you home."

"You know, I could have just driven myself back."

Isabella burst out laughing.

"You have a chef at home, so of course your mom doesn't need to cook. My family doesn't hire a chef anymore. I sent Susan back to Ethan's place, so my mom and my aunt usually handle the cooking now."

"When my dad was still alive, he ran a restaurant business. My mom's always been a great cook. Even after living as a wealthy socialite for twenty years, her skills haven't faded—if anything, they've gotten better."

The Lane family had employed a chef too, and when her mother had free time, she used to shadow the chef to learn new recipes. As a result, her mom's cooking was even more impressive now than it used to be.

In the past, her mother had wanted to partner with her aunt and uncle to open a restaurant, but Jackson had shut the idea down. He had insisted he could provide for his wife and kids, and there was no need for his wife to go out and hustle in a kitchen.

Her mother had no choice but to drop it, leaving her aunt and uncle to try and open the place themselves. But because her uncle's health was poor, the physical toll fell entirely on her aunt, and the restaurant never ended up getting off the ground.

"My mom said my dad was an incredible cook too. He actually studied culinary arts professionally for a few years before coming back to open his own place. Since our hometown is by the coast, they specialized in seafood."
