After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 910

Zachary said the same thing.

Isabella smiled, “Got it.”

It felt so good to be surrounded by family who genuinely cared for her. Moments like this made her feel truly lucky.

After they chatted for a bit, Isabella called everyone to the dining room for breakfast.

When they finished eating, she started getting ready for work. “Stephanie, you can stay and talk with my mom for a while. I need to head out,” she said as she grabbed her bag.

Stephanie looked surprised. “Your mom and Zachary just got back. Don’t you want to spend some time with them?”

“I have something urgent to take care of at work. I’ll come back once I get it sorted,” Isabella replied, slinging her purse over her shoulder and picking up her car keys. She turned to her mom. “Mom, I’ll come home for lunch.”

“Alright, drive safely. Let me know what you want for lunch. I’ll go buy whatever you like and cook it for you myself.” Cynthia watched her daughter, her voice gentle and full of warmth. She still felt guilty for the things she hadn’t done for Isabella before, and now she wanted to make up for it in every way she could.

“Anything you make is fine, Mom. I’m not picky. And don’t cook too much, it’s just us. Actually, why not invite my cousins over for lunch too?”

Zachary’s oldest had already graduated and found a job on their own, never asking Isabella for help. Her other two cousins were still students. They were on summer break now, with one more week before the new semester started. Isabella figured her cousins would be back soon from their holiday jobs.

“They’re still working,” Cynthia said. “They told me they’ll be back after three more days. They have to report to school soon, too. I asked them to come home early, but they love earning money so much, they insisted on working a few more days.”

Cynthia always treated her niece and nephew like her own children. Whatever Isabella had, her cousins had too. Sometimes, Cynthia was even more doting on her nephew than on Isabella. Back then, Isabella used to think her mom cared more about her brother and her nephew, just because she was a daughter.

“When they’re back, let’s have them over for a meal,” Isabella said.

Isabella didn’t need to guess why Natalie was here. She was definitely coming to plead for Nadine again.

A few minutes later, Natalie walked right into Isabella’s office, this time with Pansy by her side.

Isabella stayed seated behind her desk, watching as the two of them strutted in and sat down, not bothering to ask for permission.

“Isabella, is this how you treat your guests?” Natalie started in right away, her tone sharp since Isabella hadn’t gotten up to greet her.

Pansy nudged Natalie under the table, trying to get her to tone it down. After all, they were here to ask Isabella for a favor.

Isabella didn’t bother replying. She just picked up the phone and asked Nana to come in and make a pot of tea for their guests.
