After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 917

“I’m heading back now to pack my things and move into the Lane house. I’ll be helping Deborah take care of everything. She said you’re still technically the head of the household, so I should let you know. It’s out of respect.”

With that, Mandy strutted off, looking all pleased with herself.

Natalie’s grip on her purse tightened until her knuckles turned white. She was so angry, she almost wanted to run after Mandy and tear her apart right then and there.

She cursed Mandy a thousand times in her mind before finally managing to collect herself and head upstairs.

At the front desk, the two receptionists who had witnessed everything stood in awkward silence. Once Natalie was out of sight, they exchanged a quick look, both understanding exactly what was going on.

Jordan was really something. Everyone at the company knew he and Malvina had a thing going on, though no one dared mention it around Natalie. They all worried Jordan would come after them if he found out, and honestly, who wanted to get involved in the boss’s love life? They were just employees. As long as they got their paychecks, it was best to mind their own business.

Recently, Mandy had been showing up at the office a lot, too. With Deborah’s approval, no one had the guts to stop her. It was obvious to everyone that Malvina hadn’t been in a good mood these past few days.

And now, with Natalie—the real wife—back in the picture, everyone was dying to see what Malvina would do next. She had already been competing with Deborah for Jordan’s attention. What now?

When Natalie stepped out of the elevator, she didn’t see Jordan’s secretary anywhere. Her face immediately darkened, and she could already guess what Malvina was up to.

She didn’t say anything. She just walked straight to Jordan’s office and tried the door, wanting to slip in quietly, but it wouldn’t budge. It was locked.

Natalie felt a surge of pure rage.

Adelina didn’t really believe Jordan would cheat anyway. He and Natalie had grown up together, and their relationship had always seemed rock solid. It just didn’t seem possible.

While she waited for her dad and brother to arrive, Natalie sat in the lounge, feeling more like a statue than a person.

When her father finally called to say they were at the Lane Group, she got up, left the lounge, and went to wait for them by the elevator.

“Natalie, what happened?”

Her dad and brother had rushed over the moment they got her call. She’d said something had happened with Jordan, and they’d dropped everything to come straight over.
