"Oh, no, I couldn't. This is far too precious," Isabella said, immediately trying to decline.
The personal collections of these wealthy matriarchs were entirely composed of priceless, museum-quality pieces. For Salome to offer something from her own wedding collection was an incredibly heavy gesture.
"Take it. If you refuse, I'll think you find my gift too meager," Salome teased, feigning a stern look. "And then I'll be very upset."
Isabella still hesitated, feeling the weight of the gesture.
Samantha and the others quickly chimed in with encouraging smiles. "Just accept it, Isabella. If you don't, she really will think you don't like it."
"Exactly," Pearl added warmly. "You can't refuse a gift given with such love from an elder."
Harold gave Isabella a subtle nod, signaling her to accept. His grandmother had a vast collection of jewelry—pieces from her own youth, gifts from his grandfather, and countless presents from the younger generations. She couldn't possibly wear it all. When she took a liking to someone, she loved gifting them pieces from her vault. Offering Isabella a beloved heirloom right off her wrist meant she fully approved of her.
Inwardly, Harold let out a massive sigh of relief.
He had known his grandmother wanted him to be happy, but there had always been a lingering fear that she might secretly harbor prejudice against Isabella and make things difficult. Thank God, she had embraced her completely. She had even complimented her aura.
