Chapter 1114
She really couldn’t understand–wasn’t the answer obvious?
Lucas‘ mood lifted at once. Hearing Aurora’s words, he immediately countered, “No. It can only be me.”
The way he argued so seriously carried a boyish stubbornness. On a face usually so striking and composed, it almost looked childish.
He kept staring at her with that persistence, demanding her confirmation.
Seeing him like this, Aurora couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, I was just teasing you. Of course, I know it’s
only you.”
At that, Lucas‘ expression eased, and his mood lightened as well.
Lucas asked, “So, is there anything I should prepare for tomorrow’s banquet?”
“Since many of Ravenshore’s leading companies will be attending, just dress more formally,” Aurora replied thoughtfully.
Lucas agreed with her logic, but the thought crossed his mind–these were people of high status. Would they say anything careless?
Best to adapt as needed, he decided.
After all, very few companies actually knew his true identity. As long as he had Desmond give a reminder here and there, it would be fine.
“I’ll come to your office tomorrow, then. What time should I be there?” Lucas asked.
“The banquet starts at six in the evening. Come around four to pick me up, and we can get our styling
done.”
Lucas readily agreed.
After dinner, he placed the dishes into the dishwasher.
Aurora watched his tall figure moving about, and the sense of happiness wrapped around her like a
warm embrace.
Truly, a man needed to know how to manage a home.
That was how days lasted.
But why hadn’t she realized this before?
Though they had faced so many conflicts, neither of them had tried to solve the problems head–on. Instead, they had let them fester.

The thought left a faint bitterness spreading through Aurora’s heart.

Back then, she simply hadn’t understood. But those three wasted years–who was supposed to bear the
cost of them?
All of it was something she had to grow through herself, step by step, until she could finally reconcile with the person she used to be.
Those were lessons her past self had failed to grasp.
Now that she understood, Aurora felt lighter, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
Indeed, it was all about perspective. Even in life together, only by looking at things from many angles could two people endure.
When Lucas finished tidying up, he wiped his hands and stepped out.
The moment he looked up, he caught Aurora staring at him in a daze, and he froze for a second. “What is it? Do I have something on my face?”
