“No, no, it’s nothing,” Jasmine said quickly, her voice trembling slightly. “Megan, sweetheart, keep talking to Nora if you can. We really appreciate it.”

“Don’t worry, Mrs. Knight,” Megan replied with a warm smile. “She’s adorable. I really like her.”

Her words carried no hint of pretense, only genuine affection, and the warmth in her expression made the whole room feel lighter.

Watching the scene, Jasmine’s eyes grew misty. It had been so long since she’d seen her daughter like this.

And as she looked at the kind, gentle girl holding Nora so carefully, her heart swelled with gratitude.

Megan truly had a heart of gold, and for Jasmine, that alone was more than enough.
