For some reason, Judy had a bad feeling this was related to Joseph.
And when she saw the satisfied look on Wendy’s face, that sense of unease grew stronger.
After all, Wendy had always wanted to drive her out of the house; this could easily be one of her setups.
She’d spent the entire day working at her studio.
Other than running into Joseph on her way there, nothing else had happened.
Aside from that, she couldn’t think of any other explanation.
Judy stood frozen, unsure whether to pick up the phone and look at what was on it.
She forced a small, awkward smile and reached for Kenneth’s hand. “Kenneth, did you really just believe what someone else told you?”
At that, Wendy’s expression darkened instantly.
“Excuse me? What’s that supposed to mean?”
She stood up, hands on her hips. “I’m his sister. Of course I care about him! And besides, you did do something you shouldn’t have.”
“Judy, I don’t care what other people say. I just want to hear your explanation,” Kenneth said evenly, his gaze fixed on her.
Judy hesitated, her silence stretching for a moment before she finally slid the phone back across the table.
“I know this video must’ve been cut and edited,” she said firmly.
“You—” Wendy began, ready to argue, but Kenneth raised a hand to stop her.
He wanted her to stay calm.
And truthfully, he had noticed it too—the video was only a few seconds long.
If their roles were reversed, even she might not have believed it.
That was why she was genuinely surprised that Kenneth was still willing to hear her out.
“He came to me out of nowhere,” Judy explained softly. “He wouldn’t let me go, and I tried to fight him off. Do you believe me?”
Kenneth raised a brow slightly, his expression calm but unreadable.
Wendy, however, jumped to her feet, pointing straight at Judy. “You’re lying! Don’t think I can’t see through you.
“And if you were really fighting him off, then why was he hugging you from behind? Do you really take us for fools?”
Judy let out a short, ironic laugh. “Did you just say he was holding me from behind?
“You answered your own question. If I really wanted to be with him, wouldn’t we be face-to-face? Since it was from behind, doesn’t that tell you he forced himself on me?”
