Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1695

Besides, they were family by blood, and she was just an outsider.

Wendy also knew enough about her background to use it against her. And now, with that video of her and Joseph, she had more than enough leverage.

If Judy had fought back today, Wendy would’ve run straight to Kenneth’s parents with her version of the story.

The thought alone made Judy want to laugh.

Kenneth’s advice sounded noble, but it wasn’t realistic at all.

There was no way she could openly fight his sister and come out unscathed.

Still, she kept her expression gentle and understanding.

“You said it yourself—she’s your sister. How could I possibly argue with her?” Judy said softly.

“There’s an old saying—if you care about someone, you don’t pick fights with their family. You two are so close; I’d never be the reason that bond gets damaged.”

Kenneth opened his mouth to speak, but Judy stopped him with a quiet firmness.

“Alright, go get some rest. I’m fine, really. I just hope that next time something like this happens, you’ll come straight to me first. Don’t keep it bottled up, okay?”

Her voice was gentle but resolute. “I don’t ever want misunderstandings between us. Whatever it is, you can always tell me.”

Kenneth looked at her, visibly moved, and nodded earnestly, taking her words to heart.

With that, the matter was finally settled.

Judy let out a quiet sigh of relief, but she didn’t let her guard down.

Because deep down, she knew Joseph would come back.

Judy spotted him from a distance but acted as if she hadn’t seen a thing. Calm and composed, she picked up her bag and headed for her car, ready to drive to her studio.

But before she could even start the engine, Joseph appeared at her side, grabbing her arm and yanking her out of the car.

She didn’t have to turn around to know who it was.

Without hesitation, Judy swung her hand across his face.

The sharp crack echoed through the underground parking lot. She hadn’t held back in the slightest.

Joseph clutched his cheek, stunned, staring at her in disbelief.

“Judy, are you serious? You actually hit me?” he said, his voice trembling with shock.
