Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1709

“Miss Song, I can assure you there isn’t a single fabricated detail in any of this.”

“But why does it all sound so ridiculous to me?”

“To be honest, I feel the same. Their relationships are unbelievably tangled. But regardless of how strange it sounds, this is exactly what the investigation uncovered.”

He then took out footage from the underground parking garage.

“This came from a bystander. It’s from a dashcam recording.”

He played the video and handed the screen to her.

She clearly saw the scene of the three people standing opposite one another.

In the footage, Joseph was knocked to the ground by Kenneth with a single punch.

His disheveled state was captured perfectly, and she saw every bit of it.

She hadn’t expected the three of them to be entangled like this.

She really had underestimated Joseph.

She had assumed he only had eyes for Aurora. But now it seemed he wasn’t thinking about revenge at all.

He was entirely focused on winning Judy back.

If that was the case, then Judy might be the perfect angle.

With Judy involved, Joseph might cooperate with her.

After all, he was desperate to win Judy back.

With that thought, her plan began to take shape.

She handed the investigator the remaining payment.

“No matter who asks, don’t tell anyone I came to you.”

He patted his chest confidently.

“Don’t worry, Miss Song. I know how to handle myself.”

He added, “In our line of work, we still hold on to a little professional ethics and discipline.”

That reassurance finally eased her mind.

With no house staff around, Joseph answered the door himself. The moment he saw her, his brows knitted tightly.

“How did you find this place?”

She wore a smug expression.

“If I want to find something, I always do.”

His face darkened even more at that.

He hated being watched, especially now when he was trying to pursue Judy.

Being monitored felt humiliating, and if the incident in the parking garage ever got out, he wouldn’t know where to put his pride.

Judy wasn’t even speaking to him now—if she learned about it, the embarrassment would be unbearable.

“If there’s nothing important, stop coming here.”

He moved to shut the door, but she boldly pushed her hand into the doorway.

Seeing that, he drew a sharp breath and reluctantly paused, lowering his hand from the door.
